Weekly Game Jam 198 updating Klingon game
Weekly Game Jam 198, gonna revist and update my "totally in Klingon" game..
Weekly Game Jam 169 "Organia: Trail of Blood and Honor" by DerrickMoore (itch.io)
follow along, help out or make suggestions at my Discord.. the version from Orktober (Jam 169) makes a bit more sence and works better, I'd try that one first
Day 12Game Jam is over, but I'm still spending this week working on it.. got basic planets basicly working, got a couple of enemies, just flying around.. there are some problems with the local civillians flying off into space without a spaceship.. and something is causing a bog down if it runs long enough...
just starting on enemy AI, but I like the way the are "scouting" the local system.. working on ways they can "detect" and find the Player, then eventusally attack
............
Day 0.. I havnt done anything in a while, game wise... and I need to get back into it. I've got 3 big projects going and this is the simplest one and maybe the best one to work on and update. Had a ransomeware attack last Feburary, and I just took some time off before I even looked at my back ups... and a couple days later my laptop died, so I needed a new work laptop anyway.. just getting back into making games after a few months break (I spent that time painting up about 1000 points of space marines which is helpful for my other big game project)
Day 1.. Theme is Descent.. and since I wanted to work on transporting crew to the planet and back, seems like a good fit.. In the previous version (last Orktober) I was just concentraiting on the "Galaxy Map".. but here I'm on the Planetary level.. (idea is Ill activate the planet when Player visits it from Galaxy Map, and I'll scale the Galaxy up and deactivate the other planets..
There is nothing to do in the game.. and I've broken most of the buttons.. oops.. I'll write up some notes later... but right now.. there's no help (except the Y buttons, but some of that info is outdated still.. There are some elements in the scene that I'm working on, like a colony and people, and enemies, and a space beast.. those are all in the scene, but they dont do much.. (except act wierd).. I hope to have something alot less confusing by the end of the week.. I've asked a warhammer 40K friend to give me a hand with some stuff... and as usually I'll be relying on the people at the "Learn Klingon" FB page alot.... I'm gonna try and make a video explaining some of the basics.. but it's SUPPOSED to be "Oregon Trail in Space"... getting there. I'm still learning how to code.
Day 7.. Eh, I failed completly again... always the same thing the last 3 jams I've worked on this.. argh... I'm gonna spend "week 199" working on this one, and come up with a more original idea for "week 200"
and adding a download version.. I'm gonna fix those buttons next week
Day 10.. fixed many many issues.. you can now "buy" warriors at the building on the planet.. two planets.. just testing how they "evolve" they each have a "level 1 colony".. they should grow over time.. but I only have the one building.. working on adding crew on the planets.. still undecided if all planets should be the same size or not.

It's very interesting, I'll have to play it longer before I give my final thoughts on it, but it looks cool!
