"unofficial Klingon fangame".. also a "work in progress"
Made for Persistent Roguelike Jam (maybe 50% done so far.. barring translations)
Last Day... eh, I feel I got about half the game done.. (leaving it in a confusing and awkward state).. had the idea over the Summer to do a game in Klingon (originally in 3D).. and did some tests.. for the game jam I remade everything from scratch.. saving only the Klingon poem at the start..
in this game Player is captain of a Klingon vessel in a small sector of space.. 3 or 4 Klingon worlds exists (with people, and buildings that evolve and grow.. work in progress still), also several "unexplored" systems, where when the Player is near a pop up will pop up giving the Player some options... also, 10 or so asteroids start in the area.. they serve as hazard for the colonies, casue the will do damage after crashing into them (not done yet)..
Player has limited resources, Crew, Shuttlecraft, Missiles and Officers.. at the start, I would like to be able to give the Player the option to choose how many officers to take, how many missiles to bring..
When Player runs out of enough resources and must return to the Homeworld (big planet in the centre), then Mission is over, player's score is calculated.. then, a little story or option to retire (like in Sid Meire's Pirates) is given... or Player can go on another mission..
Inteneded to (eventually) be played on PC, Mobile, and in a Webbrowser (so you can continue to play on the bus, at work or while at home.. ).. eventually game will be entirely in Klingon.
almost all the art is done, and it's intended to be "open source" meaning, that once the basics are done, any fan can insert their own encounters, scenarios, pop-ups, etc.
not a lot is done.. some basic stuff. .. I quite like how there is gravity for the asteroids and planets.. and I like how the ships move.. Solo dev.. and I'm more of an art person than a coder.. (no combat because I'm having trouble with colliders)
oh, important note... Game is 100% legal and uses no trademark stuff (that's why my Klingon ship doesn't look like the standard Klingon ship you see on TV).. and BIG THANKS to my Klingon Language tutors who've been putting up with me a lot.
