You are the last train system on Earth.

Eight hundred thousand years from now, an old transit computer wakes up under a beach. Its tracks are buried. Its stations are lost. The world above has moved on without it.

You can't walk. You can't fight. But you can watch through old kiosk cameras, talk over a crackling PA, and help the strange new people living on the sand.

Meet the Melkie

Seal-like people who dig, decorate everything they find, trade, squabble, play games and build little huts by the sea. They have no idea what you are. Every one of them learns, remembers, makes friends and holds grudges.

And they're not alone out there.

A world that lives without you

• It never stops. Look away from a village and come back a day later. They've been busy.
• Every world is different. Type in a seed and get a new world, a new people, a new history.
• History you can dig through. The ground under every place holds the layers of everyone who lived there before: wars, floods, lost empires, strange disasters. The deeper you dig, the older and stranger it gets.
• Treasure in the dirt. Tools, weapons, gadgets and odd relics from ages long gone. A Melkie might trade a laser gun for a banana.
• Somewhere to go. Reefs, a sunken ruin, deserts, canyon mesas, deep tunnels and buried stations wait out on the map.

Play it your way. Play it with one button.

BART is built so that anyone who can press one button can play it fully.

Press TAB anywhere:

• One Click Mode and scanning: the game steps through the buttons for you, and one press chooses.
• Arrow keys everywhere: left and right to move, down to press, up to go back.
• Game speed from 1/10th up to double, on every screen.
• Colour options, and an optional nudity setting: shown, pixelated, or black bars.

Press H any time for every control and a note on where you are.
